These gorgeous hand-hammered brass singing bowls have a wonderfully complex set of overtones and harmonics. Each bowl comes unboxed with a wooden striker.
Hand-beaten bowls have a more complex, overtone-rich range of sounds than machine-made bowls — but there is more of a knack to playing them. The reward is a depth of sound that is truly breathtaking.

Rest the bowl — hold the singing bowl in the palm of your hand. For smaller bowls, hold them on your fingertips.

Hold the striker — hold the wooden striker in the middle with all fingertips pointing downwards.

Warm up the bowl — gently tap the striker against the side of the bowl to "warm it up."

Circle the rim — with even pressure, rub the striker clockwise around the outside rim of the bowl.

Use a full arm movement — just like stirring a big pan of soup. Try to keep the striker straight and remember to apply pressure.

Let the sound build — allow the sound to build up slowly as the singing bowl picks up the vibration.
Tip: Hand-hammered bowls have more of a "knack" to them. Be patient, practice, and you'll be rewarded with a rich, complex tone that machine-made bowls cannot match.
