The incredible shimmering "flash" of labradorite is called labradorescence. It occurs when light interacts with the crystal's internal lamellar structure, producing brilliant flashes of iridescent blue, green, gold, and sometimes purple. No two labradorite hearts are the same — the flash pattern is unique to each stone.
The heart shape adds another layer of meaning. It symbolises self-love, compassion, and the courage to be vulnerable. Important note on flash: Labradorite flash is sporadic. It appears and disappears as you turn the stone. This is not a flaw — it is the nature of labradorite. Your heart will have flash, but the intensity and colour vary by stone. You will receive a heart with beautiful, visible flash — but the exact colour pattern (blue, green, gold, or a mix) will be unique to your stone.
Please note: Avoid harsh chemicals. Avoid prolonged soaking. Do not use salt — can damage the polished surface. Do not expose to extreme heat.
