Rainbow Agate Slice – 3-6cm – Mystery Crystal Slab – Colourful Natural Stone
Rainbow Agate Slice
A tiny piece of colour for your pocket, altar, or shelf.
This is a small agate slice, a cross-section of a geode, cut and polished to reveal the natural banding within. Agate forms in volcanic cavities, building up layer by layer over millions of years. Each slice is unique — no two are the same.
Agate is a variety of chalcedony (a form of quartz). It forms in concentric layers within volcanic rocks, creating the distinctive banding patterns that make each slice unique. Agate has been used for thousands of years — ancient civilisations carved it into amulets, seals, and jewellery.
Natural agate is typically grey, white, blue, or brown. The bright rainbow colours are achieved through a dyeing process that enhances the stone's natural banding. The dye penetrates the porous layers of the agate, creating vibrant, long-lasting colours. This is standard practice in the crystal industry — rainbow agate slices are dyed, and that is part of their appeal.
You will receive one agate slice, selected at random from our mixed collection. The slice will be between 3cm and 6cm in size. The colours vary — you may receive pinks, purples, blues, greens, yellows, or a mix of all. The shape varies — some are oval, some are freeform, some are more rounded.
